What is the process of hiring a bridal artist?

Are you just one person doing the hairstyles & makeup or are you a team of artists & hairstylists?
We are a team of very experienced makeup artists & hairstylists – some of us do both hairstyling and makeup, some makeup only and some only style hair.
Do you require a minimum number of services for a booking?
No we don’t, but bookings of less than 5 services will have a small booking fee applied.
Are we LGTBQ2+ friendly?
Absolutely! All of us at Shannon Doyle Beauty embrace and welcome everyone ♥
Do you come to my location, or do I travel to your studio for my booking?
Both! We most often travel to clients at their location for weddings and corporate photoshoots, but our artists have home studios in Nepean, Stittsville and Carp – for preview/trial appointments & other 1 person bookings.
Where can I get pricing information for bridal makeup & hair services? Can you give me a quote?

How soon do I need to book my wedding makeup and hair?
Our team books up to 18 months out and prime dates go quickly. Once you have secured a venue and date, we recommend that you book hair & makeup right after.
Do you offer makeup & hair for corporate/branding photoshoots, engagement photoshoots & boudoir photoshoots?
Yes, absolutely! Please Note: Friday/Saturday/Sunday appointments are usually not available during the high season (May-October) due to our on-location wedding services but please reach out and we will do our best to work with your schedule.
Is my booking retainer refundable?
No. Your booking retainer is non-refundable.
What type of payment methods do you accept?
All services can be paid via online invoice with a credit card or if you prefer, you may send us a bank e-transfer.
Do you offer group discounts?
No. We do not offer any discounts on groups.
MAKEUP SPECIFIC QUESTIONS
Is there a maximum amount of makeup applications you can do?
We book 90 mins for the bride and depending on if you booked lashes for your bridal party & guests 60-70 mins.
How long does a makeup application take?
We set aside an hour per client (a bit more for the bride). We also like to schedule a minimum of 45mins set up & buffer time to account for all kinds of distractions.
What type of makeup do you use?
We carry a variety of professional grade and high-end luxury brands. All of the products in our kit are paraben-free, hypo-allergenic, and are suitable for sensitive skin.
Someone in your party have an allergy? Please let us know prior to booking.
Are you able to do a variety of skin tones?
Absolutely! All of our makeup artists are professionally trained and very experienced and travel with a makeup kit that can be used on every skin tone. We take this very seriously. We will never tell you to bring your own foundation (unless you have a specific allergy). We got you covered!
Are you able to cover tattoos?
No, we do not offer this service.
Do you offer airbrush makeup?
Currently, none of the artists on our team are offering airbrush makeup.
HAIRSTYLING SPECIFIC QUESTIONS
Is there a maximum amount of hairstyles you can do?
It really depends more on your timeline, but there is no maximum amount of people per say. We have some hairstylists comfortable doing up to 6, and others are comfortable doing up to 8 hairstyles on their own, but you have the optional to add on additional artists &/or a hairstylist assistant to work with bigger groups or to work with your timeline.
How long does a hairstyle take?
Though we may adjust as needed after the trial appointment, at time of booking we set aside:
- Bride Hairstyle: up to 2 hours (with a hairstyling assistant, we only need to book 1 hour)
- Bridal Party & Guests Hairstyle: up to 80mins (with a hairstyling assistant, we only need to book 1 hour)
Can you do men’s hairstyles?
Absolutely! Inquire for details.
Can we install hair your clip-in/halo hair extensions?
We sure do! All of our hairstylists are skilled at working with your clip-in/halo hair extensions for wedding hairstyles – this does need to be booked in advance. Inquire for details
Do we work with all hair textures?
We do not specialize in working with 3c-4c hair textures.
Can we install fresh flowers/ hair accessories/veil into your wedding hairstyle?
Absolutely! All of our hairstylists are skilled at working with incorporating your fresh flowers (Shannon specializes in working with fresh flowers), hair accessories and veils. Please let us know before your big day so adequate time is booked.
Everyone absolutely LOVED and RAVED about their looks (bridesmaids, mom, MIL) I absolutely ADORED my look! It totally exceeded my expectations!! On the logistical side, she is very organized and reachable. She guides you through everything and works with you to create your perfect look! I had WONDERFUL experience and I know any occasion that I can find to have my makeup done, I will be contacting Shannon! Highly recommend!
